May 2016 Meeting & Elections Info

It is impossible to be spiritually mature while remaining  emotionally  immature.

Emotional Healthy SpiritualitySome who follow Christ are able to keep spiritual practices such as going to church & reading their Bible, but many struggle with the practical living out of the greatest commandments of loving God, your neighbor, and yourself well.

In order to do this, we must allow our emotions to be a part of our discipleship process.

Dallas and Leah Beutler, pastors of The Rock Church, have been on this transformative journey for the past 5 years. They have been learning how to not only “do” for God, but are also learning how to “be” with God, through a growing and loving union with Jesus Christ.  God has used the Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course and its materials to radically change their individual lives, marriage, family and ministry. At our next SEMF monthly meeting they will introduce some of the concepts in EHS as well as share stories from their experiences along this journey.

Worship – March 15, 2016

  • Mark 12:28b-30(ESV) “Which commandment is the most important of all?” 29Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

The most important command God ever gave us as His people was to simply love Him with all of our hearts, souls, minds & strength. In a word, we are called to worship Him. There’s just something about coming back to the heart of worship… together with other Christian leaders from throughout our community.

Our next opportunity to meet is a time of worship… a time to simply get away from your office and your busy schedule and spend some ‘times of refreshing’ in the presence of God and with other leaders in ministry representing the church in Saskatoon.

Here are the details for our March meeting….

  • THEME:                  Worshiping Together with Saskatoon’s Christian Leaders

An Update on Saskatoon’s Catholic-Evangelical Dialogue (Feb 16, 2016 meeting)

A few years ago, a group of evangelicals in Saskatoon initially appointed by our ministerial began to sit down with a group of Catholics for a dialogue, meeting regularly to discuss the ways in which our faith is similar to each other, where it is different and ways that we can work together.

Out of this process a dialogue statement has been produced as a work in progress… along with a number of responses from the local evangelical community. Some responses I’ve received from evangelicals are very supportive of this dialogue, while others seem to have some great difficulties with why there should even be a dialogue at all.

A panel will be speaking at our next Saskatoon Evangelical Ministry Fellowship meeting to answer your questions and address your concerns.   Come be a part of this meeting and let your voice be heard.   And as always, come for the fellowship… for the connection with other men & women of God in leadership in the church of Jesus Christ in Saskatoon.

Here are the details for our February meeting….

  • THEME:                    An Update on Saskatoon’s Catholic-Evangelical Dialogue
  • DATE/TIME:            Tues. February 16th, 2016, 12noon – 1:30pm
