Giving Thanks!

Saying “Thank you” touches upon the purpose of our lives. Being grateful reveals our nature as persons who are meant to live in community with another because saying “Thank you” requires someone to say thank you too. You also need a gift to be given as well as receiving this gift. It requires a dynamic relationship. We are created to give thanks to God for everything He has given, is giving and will continue to give. It is the proper response of creation toward its Creator.

At the next SEMF meeting, May 16th, we will express our gratitude to God for two faithful servants of the Christian community in Saskatoon, Gil & Alison Klassen. For almost 30 years they have testified about the Christian faith and the love and hope it brings through their Youth for Christ ministry and their life in general. They have been Christ’s hands and feet here in Saskatoon and we will miss them as they move into future ministry. During the meeting, they will  share some of the things they have learned throughout their ministry here.

This meeting we also welcome SEYWA (Saskatoon Evangelical Youth Workers Association) to join us and we hope for great interaction and fellowship.

Creating Financial Freedom and Flexibility in your Life and Ministry

Most pastors and ministry leaders live with tight personal finances and a very “bare-bones” retirement plan.  Kevin Doell is a certified financial planner and former Saskatoon pastor, and will be focusing on some financial principles that will help with personal finances and retirement planning.  Kevin will also share some ideas that will help you counsel others for their financial health.  Kevin will not be soliciting business, nor will he be offering investment products.  He just wants to offer suggestions that may help with cash flow, money management and retirement planning.

There will be opportunities for Q&A, as well as some pointers that will help pastors take advantage of housing allowances, mileage reimbursement and other helpful suggestions.

We will also share more information about our upcoming 2018 Prayer Summit.

Date:  Tuesday, February 21 — 12:00 – 1:30

Location:  Holy Covenant Evangelical Orthodox Church, 1426 Alexandra Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3B9
